…you shall be
My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even
to the remotest part of the earth."
Jesus (Acts 1:8)
From our birth in 2003, we have experienced
a very quick growth. As a group of volunteers we’ve been blessed
as God has placed new people and organizations in our path that are
willing to join us in taking the name of Jesus to the nations.
We have a very aggressive schedule in
front of us. Many of our Board and Staff will participate in one or
more of these upcoming projects – donating their vacation time
and their own funds to be a part of what God is doing in His kingdom.
In our goal to fulfill Acts 1:8, we
are making preparation to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem,
Judea, Samaria and the remotest parts of the Earth. We are already going
to some areas, and we are researching partners in others.
Jerusalem – our own community.
We are working with Bullitt Lick Baptist Church in taking the Gospel
to our neighbors and into the community of Shepherdsville in Bullitt
County, Kentucky. Teams are already participating in ministry projects
with Green Meadows Nursing Home in Mt Washington, and they are making
a difference as they Show Love & Share Christ here in our own community.
Judea – our state.
We are taking teams to Harlan County, Kentucky to Show Love & Share
Christ with our neighbors in Appalachia. We are partnering with Christ’s
Hands (a soup kitchen and homeless shelter), local nursing homes and
local churches.
Samaria – North America.
We have started a partnership with North Long Beach Baptist Church in
Mississippi. The devastation of Hurricane Katrina continues to affect
thousands and thousands of people in the Gulf region. We plan to assist
in clean up, construction, and in providing food, water and clothing
to help those who are hurting see Christ in our servanthood.
Remotest Parts – Nigeria.
We have established several partnerships in Nigeria and have plans for
growing this ministry to include several destinations in the years to
come. We have established partnerships with the Nigerian Baptist Theological
Seminary, and with the Baptist Medical Center Ogbomoso / Baptist Health
Services branch that cares for those suffering from leprosy. We intend
to help with basic human needs as well as coordinate Bible studies and
other basic ministry. One of our primary goals is to teach the Apostle
Paul’s model of Discipleship.
We have also established a partnership
in the northern part of the country with United Baptist Church in Jos.
We will begin sending teams to this area when we have an adequate volunteer
base to sustain annual projects - as God stretches us and scatters us
into new areas for His glory.
Remotest Parts – Venezuela.
We have established a partnership with Iglesia Bautista Amor y Gracia
(Love & Grace Baptist Church) in Maracaibo, Venezuela. This partnership
will focus on teaching and demonstrating Discipleship principles in
order for all involved to multiply themselves through discipling new
believers. Love & Grace has already started new missions, and we
are excited to become involved in their work as we work together to
make new disciples and encourage our Christian brothers and sisters
in Christ.
If you see a project that interests
you, contact us for information about initiating a project for your
own group, or joining an existing group that is preparing to go. If
we have one or one hundred interested, we will find a way to plug you
into mission service!
MISSION LEVEL INDICATORS
You will see Level indicators (1-5)
for each project. Following is a brief description of what these levels
represent.
Level 1
– (Jerusalem) Local area mission project participation. Interaction
with same culture and language.
Level
2 – (Judea) Mission efforts within Kentucky, or
in other states within a few hours drive time. Interaction with same
culture and language, or possibly with other cultures / languages with
people who have relocated to the US. Overnight travel away from home.
Minimal risk – primarily during road travel.
Level 3
– (Samaria) Mission efforts within North America, or short projects
to non-threatening countries. Interaction could include other cultures
and languages in their environment. Air travel could be required. Passport
and visa could be required. Vaccinations could be required depending
on destination. Costs will be elevated due to air travel and/or other
travel expenses. Accommodations may be less than you are accustomed
to in the US. Moderate risk - air travel, foreign culture and government,
exposure to new health concerns.
Level 4
– (Ends of the Earth) Mission efforts outside of North America.
Interaction will be targeted with other cultures and languages. Most
communication will be through interpreters. Air travel will be required.
Passports will be required, and visa’s must normally be approved
prior to departure from the US. Some vaccinations will normally be required
and others recommended. Costs will be elevated due to air travel and
visa. Accommodations will typically be “rough” according
to US standards. High risk – air travel, unstable governments,
foreign culture, exposure to new health concerns, rejection of Christianity.
Medical treatment, if available, will typically be very primitive.
Level 5 –
(Persecuted Church) Mission efforts to areas that are considered Restricted
or Hostile toward Christians. Accommodations may be very rustic and
may not include showers or toilet facilities. VERY HIGH Risk –
we will be ministering with persecuted Christians and to people who
may be unreceptive or hostile. Health and safety will be at risk.
